Hi, I’m Calvin Kertzman—a filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles, originally from Manila.
I grew up between two worlds, immersed in Southeast Asian cityscapes and movies of all kinds, thanks to parents with wildly different but equally chaotic tastes.
That early mix of contrast and curiosity still drives my work today. I hope that background comes through in the images and stories you'll find here. My projects include narrative film, photography, and the in-between of the weird and wonderful.
Many of my ideas come from everyday life: a sign, a glitch, a strange smile.
Right now, I’m working on a blend of personal projects and client work while building my own production brand, Smile and a Wink. The goal is simple: create honest, somewhat unexpected work that’s worth remembering.
